Planting a Hosta.

       

 Prepare the soil, then dig a hole twice the width and depth of the plant.

 Lay a stick across the hole to make sure you don't plant it any deeper than it was in the pot.

 Backfill with soil and organic matter. Lightly press the soil down to close any airholes.

 Cover with more organic matter such as mushroom compost or peatmoss.

Water in good.

Apply slug pellets as per manufacturers recommendation.

In my opinion, you are better off getting a small potted plant as shown in the pictures,

rather than get a chunk of a bare root plant. All the Hosta we ship are potted plants.

There is less chock from transplanting also.
