Once thought extinct, Dawn Redwood rediscovers the nursery
market.
Metasequoia glyptostroboides was rediscovered
in 1941 outside the Motaochi village in China.
Before that time the tree was only known as
a fossil.
The species is considered to be over 100 million
years old, penning its nickname"The Dinosaur Tree"

needles in fall after displaying its unique orange-red
brown fall foliage. It has a very fast growth rate,
possibly reaching 25' in 10 years. This is a large tree
maturing to 100' plus. Suitable for larger landscapes where it can serve as a focal point or grouped to form a screen . Dawn Redwood is easy to transplant.
